Here’s a description of the product according to Tarte’s official website:

    • dermatologist tested
    • tarte 12-hour makeup
    • Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen

Okay so their description was pretty crappy, so here’s a description I found on Ulta’s website about it:
Achieve flawless skin that looks healthy and natural with this supremely blendable liquid foundation that delivers up to 12 hours of satin-matte coverage while protecting skin from harmful UVA/UVB sun rays. Infused with skin-balancing Amazonian clay, the skinvigorating formula intuitively addresses your unique skin concerns, helping to improve overall skin clarity and texture, while the full coverage makeup fades over the appearance of large pores, discolorations and other imperfections. With all mineral, non-chemical sunscreen filters, this gentle formula features Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen, is vegan friendly and oil-free. Available in a large shade range to match women’s unique skin tones and undertones.

Price: $39.00 USD

My Opinion:

Packaging
Comes in a easy squeeze tube,  which I prefer, because I can control the amount of product that comes out. Tarte’s whole bamboo thing is really cute, so I dig the bamboo wooden cap.

Formula

  • Texture/Formula – The foundation is more like a mousse foundation in a tube instead of a liquid/cream, this makes the product really light weight and blendable.
  • Scent – it’s not very scented, but it smells like any other foundation.
  • Performance – It has a very good coverage, I use a beauty blender with this and if it didn’t cover the blemish on the first application, I just put on another layer, and poof, blemish gone! Also, I have combination skin, so it gets a bit shiny during the day, but sometimes some parts of my face gets flaky and dry. This foundation does not accentuate the flaky parts which is great, but then again after an 8 hr day at work I do see a little movement in the makeup and little creasing,

So the big question is, would I recommend it to you or buy it again? The  answer is ,“Yes”.

On the most part, a little blotting could help with the oil on my skin, but the coverage is great, it feels great, and it looks like my skin. When I add another layer for more coverage it doesn’t cake up which is great! For $39, it is a bit pricey. I usually use MAC foundation which costs me $27 so I won’t be too eager to repurchase when I run out.tarte amazonian clay

The New Year Resolution, look at it in a different way.

I used to have resolutions, but then I stopped because I would never fulfill them. This year though, I am motivated to make some new ones because I’m looking at it in a different way.

I came to realize this after learning about goal setting and the difference between a short term and long term goal. A new year resolution is simply a long term goal, and you can you can track the progress of this long term goal by setting monthly , weekly, or daily goals.

Another thing about resolutions that people don’t really think about is setting a goal that is realistic and achievable. Really people, if you don’t work out at all and you hate exercising, what are the chances that you are going to fulfill the resolution that you are going to go to the gym EVERY DAY. The chances are very slim. Rather than say that, make the goal of going to the gym at least two times a week.  It’s more achievable, and it’s baby steps to actually going to the gym every day. Maybe next month you’ll increase to three times a week.

A good resolution is also about perspective. For example, saying that “I’m going to go on a diet” or “I’m going to lose 50 pounds” doesn’t sound to good. Weight loss is stressful, and diets are short term.  If you look at it as a “change for a healthier lifestyle” the things you do in order to be healthier will maybe help you to lose weight or “diet” since you are changing your “diet”. It’s less stressful too since you’re not focusing on the numbers on the scale or if you slipped up and ate something you weren’t supposed to.

Sh*t happens though…
Don’t get down on yourself if things don’t work out. Don’t get misguided if things don’t go the way you think that they should go. The fact is, life happens. We all make mistakes, or something happens to us that is out of our control.

So take all of this into consideration when making that resolution. It’s a new year. Make 2016 count.
